There has been a lot of talk lately about search engines like Google launching their own branded operating system.

While such a system doesn’t necessarily correspond with Google’s vision of making the world’s information universally accessible, it could be a consideration in that plan.

In today’s article I revisit a common theme.  One which I have written about in other places.  That is:  search as a platform unto itself.

Online press releases have been around for years.  But up until recently they’ve pretty much remained the domain of ‘legitimate’ news sources.

That has changed in the past year or so, however, as online marketers figure out the true value of press releases.  While they offer great exposure to your product or service they do much more.

Web logs, or Blogs, are becoming an increasingly popular form of online communication.  So much so that Yahoo! News is even showing listings of blogs when you do a news search.

In this article we look at what a blog is, what a feed is and how you can use them to help you promote your site.

I recently attended a search engine marketing seminar and there was lots of discussion about how to mass market your site online.

Web copy has evolved from the “early days” of SEO.  Back then (3-4 years ago) doorway pages were all the rage because they could be auto generated on the fly and were built to rank highly on the search engines.

Link popularity is meant to be the system which tells the search engines how important your site is.  In fact Google has built itself around that theory.  They have even created a ranking algorithm to measure such link popularity and it even influences the rankings your site achieves.  Their algorithm is called PageRank.

But Google is not the only engines to use link popularity.  Therefore all sites need to have some way to build links to themselves to help influence algorithms like PageRank so the site can rank competitively.  This article provides some tips to quickly and easily build your link popularity as well as some longer term tactics you can use.
