It is reported that the ‘About’ section of the Google Toolbar does not properly filter HTML code. A user can create HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will invoke the About page and execute arbitrary scripting code in the context of the page.

Impact: A user can cause scripting code to be executed in the Local Computer security zone.

Solution: No solution was available at the time of this entry.

Offline copywriting is about selling. Online copywriting is about helping. It is extremely important to realize this. Because every website is different a web surfer needs to understand a website first before he can use it. Online copywriting is therefore different from offline copywriting. The first thing to do is to help the visitor, then to sell. In The difference between online and offline copywriting, a copywriter named Nick Usborne explains. Also this may be something to consider when advertising online.

If you do you probably have a hard time keeping them all organized.  Inevitably some of them will go unanswered and you willl lose sells, customers, important information, or worse.

I’ve written a quick article for disorganized Outlook users that could be very helpful especially if you receive a lot of important emails on a regular basis.

If you are currently using Arelis to find link partners you have probably been frustrated with the time it takes to use the backlink grabber function.  Currently in Arelis you must search one site at a time to import backlinks.  This process can take hours and hours.  With our new tool it will do a keyword search and pull in all the backlinks for the top 20 sites. It then emails you a .csv file that is exportable into Arelis. This tool should save hours of work.  It is in Beta right now so we would be happy for any feedback.  If you have any feedback email me at jarrod@textlinkbrokers.com

This is straight from Google:

“Google automatically takes a “snapshot” of each page it crawls and caches it. This enables us to show the search terms highlighted on text heavy pages so users can find relevant information quickly, and to retrieve pages for users if the site’s server temporarily fails. Users can access the cached version by choosing the “Cached” link on the search results page. If you do not want your content to be accessible through Google’s cache, you can use the NOARCHIVE meta-tag. Place this in the section of your documents:

This tag will tell robots not to archive the page. Google will continue to index and follow links from the page, but will not present cached material to users.

If you want to allow other robots to archive your content, but prevent Google’s robots from caching, you can use the following tag:

Note that the change will occur the next time Google crawls the page containing the NOARCHIVE tag (typically about once a month). If you want the change to take effect sooner than this, the site owner must contact us and request immediate removal of archived content. Also, the NOARCHIVE directive only controls whether the cached page is shown. To control whether the page is indexed, use the NOINDEX tag; to control whether links are followed, use the NOFOLLOW tag. See the Robots Exclusion page for more information.”

Do blog links count as much as any normal links do? Yes says a blogger at Blog Business World hosted on Google’s Blogger.com. This is just one among many opinions expressed by webmasters and the general opinion seems to be that the blog links count just as much, unless the links are as a result of comment spam or off-topic. Here is another discussion held on blog links v/s normal links at SEO Guy Forums, where contrasting views have been expressed and general consensus seems to be that blog links do count just fine.

Like in any other www entities, contextual and on-topic links in blogs should count, afterall aren’t blogs now the personal homepages of thouands?

To improve the efficiency of a text link you need to make it as attractive as possible. In other words, the link needs to attract attention. In the past banner ads applied the idea of making it attract attention totally in the wrong way. Many banners became very anoying images on a page, often flashing on and off and things like that. As a result most internet surfers became selectively blind to banners. Then Google decided to allow Image Ads in Adwords. I wrote an article on how to make Image Ads as atractive as possible which pretty much can be applied on text links as well. The key is to accept that not everybody will notice your ad/text link and to make sure that those interested in what your website is about, do notice it and to give them a reason for clicking on it.

A webmaster or a Search Engine Optmization expert alike, often face the challenge of doing a redirect of old pages/files to newly named or newly created pages. While there are many types of redirects possible, a 301, a.k.a “permanent redirect” is the most used redirect type among the SEO community. When a website or webpage changes its name, that equates to starting all the link popularity related works from scratch. But, with a properly executed “301 permanent redirect”, you are telling a S.E spider that, this page has moved to a new location permanently, hence update all the related information to the new location or the filename. This relieves you of the painful redoing of the link popularity from scratch, apart from giving other user benefits.

But 301 redirect is a highly mis-understood and improperly executed function too, among many newby webmasters and SEOs. Here is a useful collection of “How To” of 301 redirection.
If your website is hosted on MS IIS 5.0 server, then you should read this

Observation:  the number of pages in Google’s index as indicated by their homepage display has been stuck at 4,285,199,774 since August 2003.

Observation: Googles uses a 4-byte variable for its document ID (this is built into Linux) and the maximum number of combinations it can produce is 4,294,967,296.

Possible Conclusion?: Google has run out of document IDs and is even now scrambling to re-write their software before they can add any pages to their index. This might help explain a few things such as - many sites getting dropped from the index, no PR updates in over 2 months (engineers & machines are busy with more important tasks), massive automatic penalization of sites.....

Here’s where I found this info.
