As part of our Q&A series, I received the following question from one of our visitors:

Hi Im new to the whole website bussiness. Ive finished my site know I need Links, Im starting with the free ones ot the moment ( RECIPRICAL ) AS MONEY IS SCARCE. The problem Im having is getting my head around the how to do links. Ive put some banners onto my site but I dont see my link on there site. Is there any sites that I would benefit on visiting, I need the link subject explained to me in language that I can understand. Paul

One of the great thing about link building is that there are a million people out there talking about it. A simple search on Google for “Link building tips” or “Link building advice” will bring up a ton of results.

Here is a link to a Link Popularity Guide that we put together. It’s pretty comprehensive and covers a lot of the basics.

Let me know if you have any other specific questions, and please do not spend your money on any of those networks that offer thousands of links for 19.95 per month.  They will do you more harm then good.
