Chris Weare, a MSN Search Developer, discusses the "Near Me” Search in the msnsearch weblog.  He suggests putting your address in the footer of every page in the following format, “1 Microsoft Way Redmond, WA, 98052”.  I think this entry is important for those that want to Rank well on MSN Search’s Near Me searches.

Google index shows 9,560,000,000 results when searching for the word “the” (Nov 10th).  While Googles index is really bigger, most use the word “the” as this is the word that gives the most results.  This was at 5,880,000,000 back in Oct 22.  I would say that was a BIG increase.

Update: Well it is showing 8,000,000,000 today (Nov 13) for the word “the.” I am smelling something fishy here.  Like where did the extra billion pages go that were there 3 days ago?  I am wondering if Google is doing some inflating here to steal away Microsofts claim to have the largest index on the eve for their big release?
