I have done quite a bit of research into Reciprocal Links Managers over the past 6 months and have come up with what I consider the better setup that is available on the internet commercially.  Arelis by Axandra.com and ReciprocalManager (RM) by ReciprocalManager.com .

I am using Arelis to mine sites and I then import them into ReciprocalManager (RM).  You can mine about 500 sites an hour with Arelis.  You add sites to Arelis by choosing keywords to search and selecting which search engine to use and how many sites to mine from that keyword and search engine.  For example you can mine sites with searches “urltitle:key phrases” or “key phrase reciprocal links”.

After you have all your sites mined you can go through them quickly by using the mouse to click on each record (in the top pane of Arelis) while viewing them in the bottom pane.  You can delete a number of the sites just by looking at them.  There is a nice big Remove Site button that you can click on to get rid of the chaff.  Another nice feature with Arelis is when you delete a site its domain name goes into a filter so that domain will not be mined again.

After you have the sites all mined you export from Arelis and import into RM.  I found the tab delimited works the best for the export.  Just select the Contact email, Contact name, Links Page Catagory, Links Page Description and Links Page Link in Arelis and export.

RM has a setting to import from Arelis so you just select Import From Arelis and choose tab delimited and it will add all the exported links from Arelis into the mySQL database. The categories are created durning the import on the fly.

RM is is fully automated and it handles sending out link the request emails.  It provides a link in those requests that enables the person getting the request to edit the title and description, and it also gives the ability to those that want to trade links to add their automatically.  The page for adding links spiders the URL link to verify that a return link has been setup already.
