Email This ArticleDespite the long weekend there is some news to report, from a comparison between Google AdSense and YPN, to new information on MSN’s paid advertising program, to a rumored ‘blow up’ by Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer and more.
I first heard of the Ballmer escapade on a blog a few days ago. Back then it was a rumor. Since then its gathered more steam as more evidence surfaced. Search Engine Watch has a great summary of all this. So what got Ballmer so upset? Google.
A post on the Jensense blog has a great comparison for Google AdSense versus YPN. She’s done an excellent comparison between the two to help determine which is best. Turns out AdSense wins by a hair.
Another post on the SEW blog indicates that Google might be increasing its reported index size. This would be in answer to the Yahoo! claim that theirs is bigger. Really, does anyone care who has the biggest index? I don’t. Whether you show me 10 thousand results or 10 million results, I don’t care, I just want to see the results I want at or near the top.
Finally today, ZDNetAsia has some details on the soon to be released MSN paid search program. The program will involve a one time sign up fee and minimum bidding of 10 cents. rumor also has it that there will be more detailed reporting available to advetisers including demographic data.
Well I hope you enjoyed your long weekend. Now get back to work! :)
